• A great itinerary for history and culture vultures or the experienced traveller. Start off in Bangkok before exploring two ancient cities of Thailand, Ayutthaya and Sukhothai. Finish up in the North, where clients learn about Buddhist culture and taste the local cuisines. Both Ayutthaya and Chiang Mai can be reached by the same train from Bangkok taking one hour 45 minutes and 11 hours respectively.
• Ayutthaya and Sukhothai are around four and a half hours apart by road. Rail travel (a similar journey time) is available from Ayutthaya to Phitsanulok near Sukhothai.
