• Suggested time two weeks again linking the capital with the North plus Koh Samui in the Gulf of Thailand off the country’s eastern coast.
• Best time to visit March – September.
• A great alternative to Phuket during March to September. Hit the beach before experiencing the temples and food in Chiang Mai and finish with some shopping in Bangkok.
• Island add-ons from Koh Samui: Ko Tao, Ko Phangan.
• Fly from Koh Samui to Bangkok and then on to Chiang Mai or take the train northwards from Bangkok.
• If travellers wish to take the train journey south from Bangkok to Surat Thani, they can also visit Khao Sok National Park before taking the ferry to Koh Samui.
