5.4 Phuket: Things to do

  • Visit a Ladyboy Show on Bangla Rd.
  • See the coral sand beaches in the Similian Islands National Park, an archipelago of nine islands, rated among the world’s top 10 dive spots. These islands have white sandy shores, pristine rainforests and distinctive granite boulders marking their headlands. • Revellers in Phuket can choose from upscale sedate or wild and wacky nightlife in lively, Patong, which also has a great gay scene.
  • Phuket offers a plethora of pre-bookable, off-the-shelf, ready-made facilities - everything from bungee jumping to canoeing, golfing to diving, all professionally organised and packaged.
  • Divers will find some great reef life off Phuket and can also book a day excursion or live-aboard dive trip to the Surin and Similan islands.
